Course Description

In Moodle: Editing & Enhancing Online, you'll dive into the virtual realm of Moodle course development. Tailored for those with basic Moodle navigation skills, this online workshop equips you with the tools to build and refine your Moodle courses.

Through hands-on activities, you'll explore common activities and resources, adding content to your own 'sandbox' site. Join us to elevate your Moodle course creation skills.

Course Outline

In this course, you will:

  • Explore the variety of resources and activities available in Moodle
  • Practice adding different types of content (e.g., books, pages, URLs) to your Moodle course
  • Develop strategies for creating engaging and interactive activities for students using Moodle tools
  • Gain hands-on experience editing and updating existing resources and activities in a Moodle course
  • Learn techniques for integrating media, such as images and videos, to enhance your course
  • Discover resources and support options for further assistance with Moodle

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

  • Identify the key resources and activities in Moodle and understand their applications
  • Effectively use various Moodle resources (e.g., books, pages, URLs) to enhance course content
  • Implement engaging and interactive activities for students using Moodle's activity tools
  • Edit and refine existing resources and activities in a Moodle course with confidence
  • Integrate media, including images and videos, into a Moodle course to improve the learning experience
  • Access and utilize additional Moodle support and resources as needed

Notes

  • Participants should expect to spend 1 - 2 hours per week for course activities during each of the three weeks. Continuous active participation is necessary to make this course successful for everyone.
  • There may be occasional synchronous sessions during this course. These sessions are recorded and attendance is not required.
