Course Description

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® for Professional Coaches is a hands-on skills training designed for professional coaches who wish to incorporate an enhanced communication tool into their coaching sessions. Over two and a half days, you will learn the foundational skills of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and how to apply this method in coaching one-on-one, groups, and teams.

You will also experience exercises that draw clear connections between the method and the ICF coaching competencies. Within the training time, you will immediately apply your skills in practice exercises for individual, group, and team coaching. This training has been designed by an experienced coach and facilitator using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method; the course designer and trainer is also an experienced trainer for SERIOUSWORK, a UK-based group training facilitators all over the world.

This course is intended for individuals who have completed the coaching skills training. Space is limited to allow for individual attention and skills practice.

Course Outline

In this course, you will:

  • Learn three essential skills-building exercises to introduce the method to individuals, groups, and teams
  • Facilitate an individual model build (Build Level 1) for individuals, groups, and teams
  • Use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® in coaching an individual to communicate their system story
  • Facilitate a shared model build (Build Level 2) for teams
  • Understand core principles for planning LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® activities to enrich individual, group, and team coaching frameworks
  • Apply the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method to achieve the ICF coaching competencies

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Facilitate three essential skills-building exercises when introducing the method to individuals, groups, and teams
  • Facilitate an individual model build (Build Level 1) for individuals, groups, and teams
  • Use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® in coaching an individual to communicate their system story
  • Facilitate a shared model build (Build Level 2) for teams
  • Plan LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® activities to enrich individual, group, and team coaching frameworks
  • Apply the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method to achieve the ICF coaching competencies

Notes

  • Days one and two are full eight-hour days
  • Day three is a half-day in length
  • Participants are expected to attend all scheduled hours of training at the Royal Roads campus
