Course Description

This 4-week blended online course combines the art and science of project management with an emphasis on the science. The course enables team members to deliver projects on time, on budget and in scope. Learn about project management from "concept to cash" and from initial contemplation of a project to realizing its benefits through successful implementation.

This course provides a solid understanding of the terminology, processes and knowledge areas of project management, with a focus on planning.

  • Basic concepts of a project and project management
  • Common project management terminology
  • Project life cycles and frameworks
  • Project phases and processes
  • Review of the 10 knowledge areas of project management with a focus on:
    • Work breakdown structure
    • Project activity dependencies
    • Project team leadership
    • Team building
    • Team dynamics
    • Team dysfunction
    • Team and individual problem solving
    • Conflict resolution, influence and persuasion
