Course Description

This course combines the art and science of project management with an emphasis on the art. The course enables team members and project managers to deliver projects on time, on budget and in scope by effectively managing relationships. Learn about project management from the perspective of stakeholders, project sponsors, team members, and other interested parties.

Research shows that the early identification and involvement of stakeholders increases their perspective of the success of the project its end. This course provides a solid understanding of matters related to gaining and sustaining stakeholder engagement as well as reducing resistance and managing with persuasion and when one does not have the traditional authority found on traditional teams.  

Course Outline

The Advanced Project Management course is designed for people who want to maximize their time and increase their return on investment, but also want to learn leading and wise practices and trends.

This course will provide participants with an understanding of project management in the broader organizational context, taking into account change and stakeholder needs, as well as skills in using project management tools and templates.

Learner Outcomes

  • Implement best practices in selecting, supporting and developing a strong stakeholder engagement
  • Identify and adapt stakeholder management strategies throughout project life cycle
  • Recognize the importance of project risk and mitigation strategies, including project and stakeholder risks
  • Assess the level of change impact and the impact of change on end users
  • Effectively lead and/or participate within a team environment
