Course Description

In this course, you'll build on the skills learned in Writing for Business Level I, diving deeper into audience analysis, critical thinking, and writing strategies for larger writing tasks in the workplace. You'll work on articles, briefing notes, business cases, decision papers, formal correspondence, planning documents, presentations, proposals, and reports.

Using document samples from the course or your own content, you'll adapt your writing style to meet your readers' level of knowledge and content needs. Through demonstrations, videos, and hands-on exercises, you'll gain confidence in drafting and polishing coherent business documents that achieve results.

Course Outline

In this course, you will:

  • Apply plain language principles to enhance readability
  • Follow the writing process: pre-writing, drafting, feedback, editing, revising, and delivering
  • Use critical thinking techniques for effective reading and writing in the workplace
  • Complete audience analysis worksheets to tailor your content
  • Practice persuasive writing for articles, briefing notes, business cases, and proposals
  • Learn techniques for presenting data effectively in documents and presentations
