The Truth and Reconciliation at Work micro-credential is purpose-built to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives necessary to understand and implement systemic and internal Truth and Reconciliation practices. Through a series of engaging courses, you will delve into the complexities of Truth and Reconciliation, exploring the 94 Calls to Action, privilege and systemic discrimination, Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews, and more.

This micro-credential will empower you to weave decolonized practices, equity, and cultural competency into your organization, fostering a more inclusive and understanding workplace.

Program Outline

Through this micro-credential, you will:

  • Explore the 94 Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission
  • Analyze the impacts of privilege and systemic discrimination on Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities
  • Examine Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews and their application in the workplace
  • Understand the role of treaties, governance, and lawmaking in shaping Indigenous rights
  • Develop strategies for decolonizing organizational systems and promoting inclusive environments
  • Learn the significance of territorial acknowledgments and how to create meaningful acknowledgments
  • Cultivate collective leadership practices inspired by Indigenous perspectives
  • Challenge colonial practices within the workplace and develop plans for advancing equity and reconciliation

You will complete four (4) core courses to complete the micro-credential.

  • Decolonizing Organizational Systems
  • Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Worldviews in the Workplace
  • Foundations of Collective Leadership

*if you have successfully completed the Moving Beyond Inclusion course with First Nations Technology Council, you are eligible for prior-learning credit towards Foundations of Truth and Reconciliation at Work. 

Delivery Format

This micro-credential offers flexible online courses tailored for working professionals. You will engage in a blended online learning experience, combining synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods.

This approach ensures a dynamic learning environment where you can participate in real-time virtual interactions while also having the flexibility to access materials and activities at your own pace.

Anticipated learner effort is 4-6 hours per week, per course.
