TFAC073 - Teaching Synchronously
Course Description
Teaching Synchronously is a two-session online workshop that focuses on developing skills for teaching interactively online using synchronous web-conferencing platforms.
In the first 90 minute session, you will experience and discuss design and teaching strategies to create active learning environments when teaching synchronously online. You will learn about staying organized as a facilitator and supporting students with minor technical challenges. You will also practice using tools in Zoom (the platform for the first session) in preparation to facilitate a mini-lesson in the second session. In the second session (a week later, and 2hrs in duration), you will facilitate a ten-minute mini lesson in the synchronous platform of your choice (Zoom, etc), receive feedback from your peers, and learn from others’ examples. Participants are expected to attend both sessions in their entirety.
