Course Description

Need a web presence to support your teaching at RRU? To share a research project with the world? Or just a place to house your musings about your discipline, teaching and academic life? Then a WordPress site at RRU is what you need. This course will help get you started in developing your site and provide hands on practice in editing content and managing media. No experience necessary.

 

Learner Outcomes

  • Navigate the dashboard

  • Add and edit content (create pages, posts, links)

  • Embed pictures and videos in pages and posts

  • Use the WordPress Customizer to do basic style customizations to a theme

  • Working with menus and changing widgets

  • Restrict access to your WordPress site

  • Identify ways of getting additional WordPress support
