Course Description

Climate change is one of the biggest risks facing governments, businesses, societies, and ecosystems around the world. As a project manager, you occupy a critical role in the successful transition to a resilient, low-carbon world through effective direction of complex projects.

This course is designed to prepare you to add a climate change lens to your projects.

Course Outline

In this course, you will:

  • Consider your perspective on climate change as a project manager
  • Recognize valuable perspectives that others bring
  • Learn when and how an interdisciplinary approach can enhance project management for a changing climate
  • Consider the people affected by climate change and your project's response to it
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including neighbouring communities and Indigenous people
  • Start applying your learning in a case study situation
  • Integrate climate change implications with standard project management planning considerations
  • Apply your learning to a real project you are managing, with feedback from peers
