In our increasingly globalized world, effective communication across cultures and subcultures is essential.
This customized offering of the Master of Arts in Intercultural and International Communication equips you with the skills to navigate and build relationships in a global, media-driven landscape. In collaboration with Royalbridge Education Group, who play a key role in the marketing, promoting, and recruiting of learners, this program provides a unique dual-language (English and Mandarin) learning environment.
Guided by both theory and practice, you will:

Engage with a variety of communication channels, including media, social marketing, advocacy, and public culture.

Approach media and public relations strategically, applying your expertise to fields such as sports, health, diplomacy, and social development.

Understand organizational structures across government, NGOs, corporations, and not-for-profits, and learn how to effectively engage their audiences.

Develop the ability to communicate effectively in diverse cultural contexts.
Graduates of this program will gain a deep understanding of how communication shapes culture and how culture influences communities, all within an applied, dual-language setting.
Most in-person sessions are held at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) campus in Burnaby, BC.

The admission requirements for this custom offering can be found here. Please note that all academic and document requirements are consistent with other MAIIC offerings, with the exception of the English language requirement. Due to the bilingual structure of the program, the university does not require a separate language proficiency test for admission.

Tuition Payment and Refund Policies
Tuition rates and payment schedules can be found below for each intake. The program has two invoicing/payment terms for tuition and fees: the first at the beginning of the program for the first 21 credits, and the second at the mid-point for the remaining 15 credits. Tuition and fees are non-refundable after the start of each invoicing/payment term.
