Social Media Strategy for Networking and Career Building - ONLINE

Social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, WordPress and YouTube offer unlimited resources and opportunities to help us discover new job prospects and advance our careers. This course teaches emerging, mid-career and experienced professionals how to develop real-life social media strategies and learn practical techniques for personal social media marketing. Over four weeks, students will interactively explore ways to define their career goals, enhance their networking skills and promote their professional brand online to help achieve sustainable success in their field.

  • Determine your personal brand attributes as an emerging, mid-career or experienced professional
  • Assess the technical, social and strategic differences between the top social networks
  • Develop your own social content strategy that promotes your personal brand, your career prospects and opportunities
  • Apply social content skills such as plain language, repurposing, scheduling, user-generated content, community dynamics and digital media creation
  • Practice social media marketing techniques to help you find new career leads, attract recruiters, network with influencers in your field and enhance your resume
