Course Description

Equip yourself with the knowledge and tools needed to design, implement, and measure effective organizational cybersecurity programs. Participants will learn to leverage risk-based frameworks, set measurable objectives, and develop strong business cases for cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements and overall business objectives. The course is ideal for individuals seeking to lead or contribute to cybersecurity management through evidence-based program development and continuous improvement. 

This course is offered in partnership with Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Toronto Metropolitan University.

Course Outline

  • Gain an introduction to cybersecurity program development and measurement 
  • Identify risk-based needs for organizational cybersecurity 
  • Define strategic cybersecurity program outcomes 
  • Leverage industry frameworks and compliance requirements 
  • Design program goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs)  
  • Identify implementation barriers and change management strategies 
  • Draft and present a business case for cybersecurity programs
