This course provides you with an exploration of Indigenous ways of being and knowing, focusing on the interconnected frameworks of Indigenization, decolonization, and reconciliation.

You will gain an understanding of Indigenous holistic worldviews and their implications for personal, professional, and organizational contexts. Through reflective practices and appreciative inquiry, you will develop cultural competency and strategies for integrating Indigenous perspectives into various environments.

In this course, you will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of Indigenization, decolonization, and reconciliation
  • Appreciate the significance of Indigenous frameworks in various contexts
  • Reflect on personal beliefs and biases in relation to Indigenous Peoples and culture
  • Engage with reconciliation as a collective responsibility
  • Embrace Indigenous holistic worldviews emphasizing balance among physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual elements
  • Develop strategies for integrating Indigenous perspectives into workplace environments
  • Cultivate cultural competency by challenging dominant Western paradigms
  • Understand and deliver meaningful territorial acknowledgements
  • Reflect on and articulate your personal worldviews and their intersections with Indigenous perspectives
  • Differentiate between Indigenous and Western worldviews and understand their societal implications
