Course Description

The Liberating Structures for Teaching and Facilitation workshop focusing on experiencing and using Liberating Structures that can enhance learning and teaching. Liberating Structures are a collection of powerful facilitation strategies that invite us to consider alternatives to “conventional structures” (e.g. round robins, lectures, unstructured discussions) and can quickly foster lively participation in groups of any size. Participants will have the opportunity to experience a range of Liberating Structures, as well as explore choosing, structuring, and stringing Liberating Structures for their own teaching contexts. This course is suitable for participants who are new to Liberating Structures as well as those who may have experience with Liberating Structures. Note that while this course is designed for instructors, staff are welcome to attend and may find it helpful in their work with students or other staff.
