Online English for Academic Purposes

The 11-week online English for Academic Purposes Program develops students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar skills through a combination of live sessions and guided online activities and assignments. Students complete approximately 9 hours per week of independent study using an online integrated skills curriculum, which covers a series of thematic units. Additional materials and resources, such as recorded lectures and PowerPoint presentations, are provided to enhance the learners’ understanding of the material. The online learning platform, Moodle, promotes student participation through the use of discussion forums and other interactive tools. Students build their intercultural understanding, global competence, and critical thinking skills through the completion of a range of individual and collaborative assignments with guidance from the instructor
