Leading Virtual Teams - ONLINE

Leading virtual teams has suddenly become a mainstream occurrence and many managers are wondering how to shift their leadership practices to support their employees in this virtual context. In this course, you will develop a clear understanding of how to transition your in-person management practices into effective online formats while building momentum, cultivating trust and fostering accountability across your team. From leadership best practices to practical technology tools, this four-week online course will help you develop a roadmap for creating a high performing team in a virtual or distributed context.

  1. Defining Success as a Virtual Team - reconnecting to vision, purpose, performance and values in a virtual context.
  2. Communication and Collaboration – leveraging technology and online tools
  3. Connecting – making the most of virtual meetings that build trust and high performance
  4. Check-ins – supporting team members to be capable and accountable online

  • Understand the nuances between in-person and virtual leadership
  • Develop the leadership practices that build trust and collaboration in virtual environments
  • Learn practical tools for managing teams, meetings and workflow in an online setting
  • Create awareness of the unique needs of employees in a virtual context

While most of this course is delivered asynchronously, there will be weekly 90-minute synchronous sessions: dates to be announced shortly.
