Jenny Seeman, MSc, is the Archives Manager at Royal Roads University and has spent more than a decade working in government, religious, health, and folklore archives. A consistently rewarding part of her work is to find the people who exist in the shadows of official records and surface their stories.
Royal Roads University is located on what was once the estate of James and Laura Dunsmuir. James developed Hatley Park in the style of British estates of the landed aristocracy, complete with stables, greenhouses, dairy, piggery and housing for estate staff. Join RRU Archives Manager Jenny Seeman as she walks you into the past and reveals the rich history of the property and the people who lived, worked, and called Hatley Park “home”.
Join Royal Roads University Archives Manager, Jenny Seeman, as she presents Whatever the Cost – Hatley Park and the Dunsmuirs, the 35-minute documentary that explores the family’s rise and fall and the legacy they left behind in the form of Hatley Park, which remains one of the West Shore’s most famous symbols.
