Getting Started with Zoom

Getting Started with Zoom is a 90-minute online workshop that is focused on developing technical proficiency using the Zoom webconferencing platform. You will get a tour of Zoom and learn how to use different Zoom tools and moderator controls, such as recording a session, enabling features such as chat, uploading and sharing files, and more. This workshop is designed for faculty and staff hoping to become more comfortable with Zoom.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify the equipment needed for moderating in Zoom;
  • Distinguish between participant and moderator views and capabilities;
  • Use Zoom tools and moderator controls (e.g. chat, whiteboard, share files, breakout rooms, record a session, etc.);
  • Solve basic troubleshooting issues;
  • Recall where and how to get technical support before or during a Zoom session.

*Please note this is a SYNCHRONOUS ONLINE course scheduled from 10:00am-11:30am on each class day.*
