How are we to deal effectively with something as fundamental as the core methods through which we relate to the world? High quality communication requires awareness as the primary foundation. If communication is about creating understanding, mindful communication is about creating understanding through awareness. This two-day practical and experiential workshop will develop and apply the tools and skills for mindful communication and listening, and demonstrate strategies for integrating and sustaining in every day.
This course describes the basic principles and tenets of mindfulness meditation. Learners will explore the clinical applications of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) currently being offered in medical and mental health care facilities. Various applications will be explored and practiced, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). The role of presence and attunement will be highlighted. The importance of clinicians nourishing their own mindfulness-based practice will be discussed. Learners will be actively engaged in experiencing and exploring the practices.

This two-day course takes an evidence-based approach to demonstrate and apply how cultivating a mindfulness practice can optimize personal and organizational health and performance.
Bringing awareness to the direct experience of eating allows you to non-judgmentally observe your relationship to thoughts, feelings and body sensations associated with food preparation and eating, increasing your ability to slow down in this multi-tasking world. Learn how to respond rather than react to internal and external stimuli, moving away from automatic pilot. Discover the possibility of freedom from habitual, reactive patterns associated with food, and when practiced daily, hone your ability to create healthier internal and external environments.
With increasing stress in our lives come destructive emotions that can rob us of happiness and contentment. Through mindfulness, we can learn to turn our difficult emotions into our greatest teachers and sources of strength. Deepen the application of emotional intelligence skills by assessing ourselves on six emotional brain styles. Mindfulness strategies will be presented and practiced to help enhance each emotional style and cultivate more harmonious states, characterized by greater calmness and happiness.
Mobilize your own inner resources for learning, growing and healing. In this intensive training, you will learn to access and cultivate your natural capacity to actively engage in caring for yourself to find greater balance, ease and peace of mind. Participants will benefit from the well-researched and intentionally structured eight-week MBSR curriculum, led by a qualified and experienced facilitator of MBSR, trained and endorsed by the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society, University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empiricallybased eight-week program that teaches the core skills associated with mindfulness and self-compassion. MSC teaches core skills associated with mindfulness and self-compassion and brings mindful self-compassion from an abstract concept into a living reality, offering practical tools readily applied to the challenges of daily life. It is proven to reduce anxiety and depression and foster well-being and mental health across many domains.
