Cathy McKenzie, MA (Leadership and Training), has a diverse professional history as an emergency room RN, a Coroner and a manager of volunteers. In 2000 she co-founded Learning by Heart Consulting. As an educator, facilitator and coach she believes in creating an engaging space for deep and transformative learning. Her public and private sector programs focus on personal leadership, communication, coaching, building dynamic teams and dialogue practices. Cathy is a long-standing Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University and The Banff Centre.
This four-week online course will help you to gain an understanding of the underlying principles and behaviours of engagement, while exploring the nuances and assumptions associated with fostering and sustaining vibrant communities. Leadership Strengths and Styles is an opportunity for both formal and informal leaders to take their learning to the next level, starting with dialogue and reflection about leadership and personal values. With a focus on self-awareness and self-management, this four-week online course uses the highly-respected StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment to help participants identify their key strengths and develop action strategies to utilize those strengths for maximum effectiveness. You will also learn about six key leadership styles and how to use them to teach, engage, motivate and inspire others.
