The courses that make up the Integrated Mindfulness Certificate will foster the development of your practice, knowledge, skills, and sensitivities. Grounded in comparative literatures of humanities and social science, traditional and contemplative medicines, the arts and sciences, education theory and practice, business and ethics, this certificate program is intended to teach mindfulness meditation practices with a focus on its various applications within a range of personal and professional domains.
There are two levels of training offered in this program:
1. Core (3 courses required)
2. Elective (5 courses required)
PREREQUISITES: Both levels can be completed concurrently, but the certificate will not be issued until all certificate requirements have been met.** No experience in mindfulness meditation is required to enroll in this program; however, we strongly recommend learners with and without practice in mindfulness take the core courses before entering into other levels as they provide a foundation on which to build theory and practice.
CORE COURSES: The core courses explore the history and practices of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation, traditional and contemporary medicine as well as case and research-based practice.
ELECTIVE COURSES: Electives will lead students to apply the knowledge from the core courses towards a more specialized focus.
Please note: This certificate is meant for personal development, awareness, and growth and WILL NOT qualify a person to teach mindfulness.
