Alisa Gordaneer

Alisa Gordaneer, MA, teaches business and technical communications, and academic writing and critical thinking for Professional and Continuing Studies and the School of Business at Royal Roads University. She also teaches journalism and creative writing for Vancouver Island University. When she’s not teaching, Alisa writes narrative and journalistic nonfiction, poetry and fiction. Her areas of interest include energy, environment and sustainability, food, popular culture and the arts.

Meet the Media: Training in Interview and Communications Skills

Knowing what to say and how to say it is key to making the best impression with the media. This interactive workshop covers what you need to know to confidently manage media interviews, get media attention and cope with crisis communications. We cover media literacy; discuss what journalists need; and prepare you to speak in emergencies, proactive and reactive situations, and for expert interviews. On-camera practice and critiques help hone your interview presence and presence of mind, even in stressful situations.
